WHAT’S PADEL

Padel (also known as padel tennis) is said to be a racket sport that is a combination of tennis and squash. The court is smaller than that of tennis, so players of all ages can enjoy it together, and it is similar to other sports. In comparison, it is said that it is attractive because the pace at which you can learn is fast.

The big advantage of padel, and perhaps the reason why this sport has become so popular, is that it doesn’t rely primarily on strength or serve like tennis, but instead focuses more on strategy and cooperation between you and your partner than on power.

Padel is usually played in doubles. Like tennis, padel is played on a court separated by a net, but padel also allows walls to be used during play, similar to squash. A typical padel court is 10 x 20 m and surrounded by walls (glass). * Padel singles court width is narrower (6 x 20 m).

Padel Rules

The rules of padel are almost the same as tennis, except that when serving in padel you must bounce the ball to the ground and be careful not to hit it above waist height. In addition, there are special rules regarding walls. In padel, you get points belw:

  • Opponent hits the ball into the net
  • The ball bounces twice on the opponent’s ground.
  • An opponent hits the ball directly into one of the walls or nets.
  • opponent drops the ball into your net
  • The ball hits the opponent.

Seeing is believing. First of all, please visit your local padel court and try padel.
